A neuropsychological evaluation is a significant investment in the well-being and future of yourself or your child. Unfortunately, the vast majority of insurance companies do not reimburse the number of hours that are required to completed a comprehensive evaluation. The length of an evaluation can vary somewhat based on the age of the client and referral question, therefore, Dr. Monaco will thoroughly review costs at the intake session and provide you with paperwork that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions beforehand.
With a few exceptions that are explained at the start of the evaluation, almost all information shared by a client is confidential. This includes the results of your evaluation, which are covered by the same patient-client confidentiality laws as therapy and are shared only with you, or, in the case of minors, parents. If the evaluation has been requested by an oustide organization - such as a school - then you will have already consented to sharing the findings before testing begins. In such cases, Dr. Monaco provides a private feedback session to parents as well as participating in a team meeting, if the school requests it.
